sorry for the lack of updates since my return :(
I know I had promised some but I have had computer troubles again and now I am busy in New York City with Marina, sipping on some fine beers and enjoying East Coast USA beer culture. We still haven´t found one that she likes but we are working on it.
I promiste photos before the New Year. Keep checking back.
Chau
The Watch (student newspaper at my Alma Mater King’s College) has accepted an article I wrote about my trip for publication in December. The subject is how travel can be used by students to expand their horizons post-graduation.
They are also going to run some photos I took so I can now say (without lying) that I am a published author and photographer!
HOME!
Ah yes. Home at last :)
I got back last Tuesday and the week has flown by. I still feel like I just got home yesterday. I am still pretty jet lagged and tired all the time even though I’ve been going to sleep around midnight and waking up around 9. Supposedly it takes one day for each time zone so I have 5 more days till I have to stop making excuses.
No big updates today, but there will be many many pictures from the last weeks and videos from the whole trip. Chine restricted my use of the internet (no blog, no facebook, etc.) which is why the trail went cold for a bit.
Check back over the next 2 weeks and there will be more to see. Promise!
so, apparently due to the subversive nature of this blog i can’t update or access it form China (got here last night).
Just wanted to let everyone know that I made it to China and that I had an absolute blast in Taiwan. Big thanks to the Yuan family for making this happen.
I will be back the 17th…or 18th maybe…it is a long flight and I don’t know about the time changes and so on.
Look for updates when I return or when I see you in person!
(This post brought to you by http://pmore.tumblr.com. come for the fries, stay for the atmosphere.)
sorry for the lack of posts recently and whatnot but I’ve been really sick and didn’t think you wanted to hear about me lying around doing nothing (had a breathtakig trip to the pharmacy).
now I’m at the aiport. I have to say I’m impresed because the interent here is FREE. Unlike every other airport that charges around 10 bucks for wifi.
Off to Taipei! Watch out Taiwan…

Wat Pho
Thailand is covered in thousands of Buddhist Wat (temples) and there are hundreds in Bangkok. One of the most famous is Wat Pho, home of the reclining Buddha. This is a giant golden statue of the Buddha attaining Nirvana (sort of looks like he is lying down for a nap and is really happy).
The Buddha is too big to take a complete picture of and there are columns in the way as well. It is easiest to get a picture of the face and feet. The feet have a mother of pearl inlay that depict mosaic pattern and stories.
The rest of the grounds hold other buildings with other statues of the Buddha. Everything is decorated in bright and shiny colours and small mirrored pieces. I have never seen anything like it before. Very impressive and interesting.
